Beech Tree publishes three international, peer-reviewed academic journals. They have readers in over 120 countries, mainly in universities and government. They are all on public policy for science and technology, research, or environmental, social, health and other impacts. Beech Tree Publishing is a small, independent publisher, run by William Page. He retires at the end of 2011, and Beech Tree will close then. He was a Research Fellow at the Science Policy Research Unit, University of Sussex, 1971–1980. He then edited the journal Futures for two years before setting up Beech Tree in 1982. It is a member of the UK Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers.
