Research Evaluation

About this journal

Research Evaluation is a peer-reviewed, international journal. It ranges from the individual research project up to inter-country comparisons of research performance, and the increasing trend of integrating evaluation into policy. Research projects, researchers, research centres, and the types of research output are all relevant. It includes public and private sectors, natural and social sciences. The term 'evaluation' applies to all stages from priorities and proposals, through the monitoring of on-going projects and programmes, to the use of the results of research.

Research Evaluation has readers in universities, governments, research councils, consultancies, etc., around the world. It is in the Social Science Citation Index (Web of Science), Google Scholar, SCOPUS and many other databases.

All items become open access 24 months after publication, so they can be downloaded free from the journal website at www.ingentaconnect.com/content/beech/rev

From 2009, Research Evaluation will be published five times a year (March, June, September, October and December) by Beech Tree Publishing. In 2008 and 2007, it was four issues a year, and previously three.

It is intended to interest all the different parties involved in research and its evaluation: researchers, funding agencies, users of research, etc. It is not committed to any specific approach or philosophy, quantitative, qualitative or otherwise.
